Some of the equipment you have include standard flatbeds, removable goosenecks (RGNs), lowboy trailers for high height loads, step deck trailers, hotshot trailers, and other specialized trailers that have been modified to carry unique loads.

It’s only after computing this course that we will, as a Manitou hauler we will be able to give you a concrete quote of what it will cost you to transport your equipment.
We will inform you of the total costs and breakdown to include permit fees, permit requirements, taxes, and toll charges dependent on the route we have chosen.

Preparing your equipment for transport
Before transporting your Manitou, we will notify you of the trailer on which it will ride. The ground clearance of the various trailers we’ve just mentioned is different.
For oversized loads, height is usually one of the biggest problems. We need to handle them because flatbeds are usually about five feet of the ground. This is a Key Factor to take into consideration because most roads have a clearance of around 13 feet. So a flatbed trailer typically gives you a clearance around 8 to eight and a half feet total clearance in height.
Step-deck trailers give you more clearance than flatbed trailers because they have a lower middle section. This gives you an additional clearance of around one-and-a-half to two feet.
Lowboy trailers give you additional one-and-a-half feet in clearance than the step deck trailer. So of the three, they give you the most clearance. To make sure that your load is within the legal height permissible on the chosen routes. It is important to ensure that all telescopic hydraulic booms are retracted properly to give you an optimum length and height.
Depending on which states the Manitou Hauler will travel we will advise you on additional legal requirements required on the road. In some States, heavy equipment is not allowed to be shipped with some attachments still attached.
So we will advise you if there any attachments like the bucket on your equipment needs to be moved and the reason why it is imperative to do so.
We’ll also advise you on whether for the route chosen your load will be considered a wide load. This mostly depends on the model of your equipment. The wide load designation is based on whether the equipment is over-height, overweight or overweight or over length.
Equipment with a wide load categorization cost more to ship than those without.
