We will transport it, justin-auto

Take an inside look into the vehicle transportation process of a Jeep Wrangler, to California! Listen to a recorded phone conversation between We Will Transport It, Inc. and Justin, a real customer.

WWTI:   Transport.

Customer Justin:   Hi, is this Doug?

WWTI:   Yes.

Customer Justin:   Hi Doug, this is Justin returning your phone call.

WWTI:   How’re you Justin, how are you sir?

Customer Justin:   Good.  How’re you doing?

WWTI:   Pretty good, pretty good, pretty good, let me pull you up here. Alright, you got a 2013 Jeep Wrangler?

Customer Justin:   Yeah.

WWTI:   Alright, do you have any oversized tires or lift kits on this?

Customer Justin:   Nah, it’s standard.

WWTI:   Okay.  And what’s the timeframe on this, are you flexible?  You have the 3rd here but is that when you need to get it out or…

Customer Justin:   I just need it delivered on or around the 12th or 13th of April.

WWTI:   Okay.  Alright yes so that’s right on point.  Yeah you’re looking at on average it’s seven to ten day travel on this, so it’s going to cost contrary…let me see what the point up here and then I’ll check with my dispatch to see exactly what we can do it for here.  Have you ever transported before, just…?

Customer Justin:   Nah, never.

WWTI:   Alright.  Biggest piece of advice I can give you is just make sure you’re dealing with a reputable company on …around getting quotes, whatever it may be, anybody asking for any upfront deposit I would go elsewhere.  There’s a lot of auto brokers out there that are…I don’t say scammers but it’s pretty much what they do is they low-ball quotes and then they try to hit you for an upfront deposit and the vehicle never gets moved and then they come back when the vehicle is supposed to get moved and they blame it on the carrier and then they go into the up sell on you.  So just be mindful of that.  If they don’t price it correctly the driver’s not going to accept it, they get paid basically on price per mile and locations.  The only thing on this…is not bad, it’s just the drop off location, northern California is not a very popular route cause there’s not a lot of freight coming out of there so when they drop off a vehicle they like to pick up something in its place.

Let’s see here…I’m going to quote you out here and then I’m going to check with my dispatch director to see exactly what we have available coming up around the 3rd and then see if I can work on the price for you.  Right now it’s coming up at 1499 but let me what we can do.  Hang on one sec…

Hello Justin.

Customer Justin:   Hey I’m here.

WWTI:    Hey Justin, Carlo, how’s it going?  I’m actually the Dispatch Manager.

Customer Justin:   Hey how are you?

WWTI:  Actually doing good, thanks for asking.  Doug we had a few questions on the run, have you ever shipped to Santa Rosa before?

Customer Justin:   No.

WWTI:   Aw it’s complicated, this is a very difficult run, you’re going to get tons of prices that are going to be cheaper and none of them are going to find a driver for you.  You’re going to have Internet brokers, scammers, telemarketers emailing you, pricing you, so this is all about reputation.  We actually own CaliforniaTransporter.com and we know the route very well, the only way we can get you below 1499 is if you were to meet in a way better area.  You’re sending a full rig across country and then this 18-wheeler is going all the way to Santa Rosa for one car and coming back to I-Five, so 1499 as it was the low end of what we should have even started at.  I’m always telling Doug we could have issues in…I don’t know how much time or how much rush you’re in but is there a certain date you need this out by?

Customer Justin:   I just need it delivered on a certain day or a couple days around that.

WWTI:   Yeah cause it can turn into a complete utter headache.  The thing is these drivers go to San Fran then he’s going to have to go north for you and come back and that’s why it costs that much.  Put it this way, you can save up to a hundred and 50 dollars if you just meet in San Francisco.

Customer Justin:   I need it dropped off in Santa Rosa.

WWTI:   So you need it to go to your door?

Customer Justin:   Ah yeah.

WWTI:   I mean we can do it, I’m just offering to save you money, but nobody’s is going to be able to get below 1499/1500 to get it to your door.  We can get it to your door and we can get the dates done but normally, especially to Santa Rosa you want to have the reservations at a least a week to two weeks out, so as it is we’re kind of on punch time.  Yeah it’s expensive up there, there’s nothing to do up there but one unit and come back.  You’ll get prices of eight and 900 and get excited and then what they’ll do is either bait and switch you, when they deliver they ask for hundreds more, or weeks go by, you call them and then they up sell you to about 15 or 1600, sometimes even more.  It’s a very expensive run especially this time of the year.  It’s not your fault, you’re just on a very…it’s not a great run.  Major cities, LA, are cheaper like if you’re doing Philly to LA it should be about an eight/900 dollar transport. Just to give you an idea, that’s what…

Customer Justin:   Yeah, I appreciate the honesty, I do.

WWTI:    Yeah I’d rather tell you truth cause you’re going to get lower rates, they just won’t move the vehicle or they’re not going to explain it like we do, they won’t say anything about cents per mile, and then you look them up and then they’re scammers, some kind of bait-and-switch company.  It’s all about the reputation, and if we can take a cent off, a dollar, a hundred, two, I would do it but the vehicle would never get accepted or dispatched by any driver, it just wouldn’t.

Customer Justin:    Alright.  Yeah I just need it delivered at that…

WWTI:    I can …whatever you need it done by, before I got on the phone….

Customer Justin:    It can get picked up whenever, I just need it delivered…

WWTI:   Yeah that’s not a problem cause what I’ll do is I’ll have my guys drop off in San Fran on a certain date and then we’ll shoot up to get you, so we can probably even nail the date.  Now keep in mind, keep in mind it’s going to take seven/eight days just to get across country.

Customer Justin:   Yeah that’s fine.

WWTI:    Okay, give me the date you think you want it delivered on and I’m going to nail a rig for you.

Customer Justin:   April 12th.

WWTI:    Okay April 12th.  So yeah we’d have to start moving…we’d have to get you out like by the 4th. Now what if we got in earlier?

Customer Justin:    That’s the issue, I’m flying out on the 11th.  I’m flying into San Fran on the 11th.

WWTI:   Yeah, they’re just going to want like a two-day window like the 12th or 13th.

Customer Justin:    Oh okay.  Let’s make it the 13th then, let’s make it the 13th.

WWTI:    So we’ll get it loaded up, yeah let’s get it loaded up  Monday, the 4th.  You want to hold by one second, I want to make sure that I’m not…you know what I’m seeing is…cause sometimes we’ll see a spot availability or you’ll something and then it’s not there.  I’d rather not set up an order that’s not going to get done, I’m not going to do that to you.  We thrive on reviews and we’re five for five stars, I’m not going to do that to you.  Can you hold on one second and I’ll explain how it all works, the insurance and everything.  Before I click over on the truck…when I speak to this driver the first thing he’s going to want to make sure is that this thing starts up and runs and can be loaded right up on the rig without it quitting.

Customer Justin:    Yeah it does, it runs very…

WWTI:   Okay.  Any oversized tires or lift kits, cause normally some of these are pretty big.

Customer Justin:    Nah, this is your standard…this is your standard jeep.

WWTI:    That’s going to get it done.  Give me one second okay.

Hello?

Customer Justin:   Yeah I’m here…

WWTI:    Alright thanks for holding.  It’ll work out this way.  I just want to veri…I tried to see if they’d let me do something on the price but I already knew, it’s worth a try.  They told me if I knocked 50 bucks off this order I could miss this truck and I said no.  Well the specific dates he’s flying on the 11th so they said it would be like a Monday afternoon pickup or Tuesday, which is the 4th or 5th, and then the delivery would be…depending on when we get into San Fran that weekend, we kind of would call you on Monday when you fly in and see if it’ll be like a Tuesday morning or like a Tuesday afternoon.  When do you prefer, a.m. or p.m.?

Customer Justin:   Oh it doesn’t matter, either is fine.

WWTI:   Okay but you’ll be in Cali though on Monday the 11th?

Customer Justin:   Yeah.

WWTI:   Alright good, so I can put that in the notes.  And the way it works is you don’t pay anything today, there’s no deposit or hold or anything we need.  WE do obviously take down whatever debit or credit card you’re using, we just don’t charge them til we load the vehicle and it’ s only a small portion of the trip…of the 1499.  From the 1499 it would be 249 that comes off a debit or a  credit card, and then you pay the balance when we deliver.  So the larger portion is anything certified, it can be cash, cashier’s check, money order, whatever you feel comfortable with, it’s going to be for 1250, and then I send in writing.  So you would actually get this, have you ever done a e sign before?

Customer Justin:   Yes.

WWTI:   Ah cool, good.  So I’m going to send one out to you now Justin.  Are you moving out to California?

Customer Justin:   Yeah, permanently.

WWTI:   Oh wow, cool!  We actually own CaliforniaTransporter.com, so we’re on direct call and that’s why I kind of went into specifics with it cause we probably bail people out of these runs daily that go with brokers that tell them 11 hundred or a thousand and then weeks go by, they miss their flight and then they felt they were saving money and it costs more money.  When you go to these specific areas in California brokers can’t find drivers so what happens is they can get you to San Fran or LA but then they can’t get a driver to Santa Rosa so they end up just kind of screwed, they need somebody like us that’s direct, that sends their own guys out, a whole different ball game.  We come to your door in PA, we inspect it, load it and then it’s insured for a hundred grand, once it gets on the rig.  And then we do come right to you, my driver will be coming out of like the Redding area…got it.  We give you a 24 to 48-hour notice and we kind of go with the driver’s name and number and we’ll schedule the pickup.  Are you going to be out there?  Do we do it with you?

Customer Justin:   Yeah, you can do with me directly.

WWTI:   Alright, you’re going to keep that 610 number in California that I have here?

Customer Justin:   Yeah, it’s a cell number.

WWTI:   Alright of course.  Moving out there for work?  School?

Customer Justin:   Work.

WWTI:    Awesome, at least you’re doing it for…some people are moving cause they can’t afford to live and they’re getting the heck out of California so when you’re going in that’s a good thing.  Are you going to be my person of contact too so we’re just going to wait for you to fly in and then call you?

Customer Justin:   Yep.

WWTI:   And the insurance?  Just to go over the year with me on the Jeep Wrangler and the color cause we do insure it at a hundred grand full premium.

Customer Justin:   Okay it’s a white Jeep Wrangler Sport.

WWTI:   Got it.  Okay so it’s a Sport, let me put that on there.

Customer Justin:   Yeah it’s the smallest one you could have, they’re probably…

WWTI:   Awesome! Thank God it’s not, you have no clue how bad these prices.  You have somebody pay two grand to get into Santa Rosa they had an Expedition, so it gets pretty bad. Yeah, like I tell everybody it’s the same thing in life, it can always be worse.  And then have you ever done a e-sign, you said you’ve done an electronic signature before, you know how those work.

Customer Justin:   Yep.

WWTI:    Good cause I want to forward that out now.  I made sure I’ve dotted my Is and crossed my Ts and then I’m going to send that now.  I’ve got one more required field and I can forward it to you.  And this one’s in your name right?

Customer Justin:   Yes.

WWTI:   Got it.  So I’ll make sure Doug’s on that.  And I’m going to forward this out to you.  Can you do me a favor?  If you don’t get this email within the hour take down the direct number here.

Customer Justin:   Okay.

WWTI:    And let’s see, did you call  on the 954 number or was it the toll free?

Customer Justin:   954.

WWTI:   Yes.  So lock that number in, it’s right to Doug’s desk, it’ll say ‘Shipping Order Form’ and all I need you to do is open up and approve it within the hour so I don’t lose that drive or I’m not going to get it done for you.

Customer Justin:   Okay.  Just to confirm, so I pick up on the 4th.

WWTI:    Yes.  They tell us a two-day window, 4th or 5th.  After you approve this email a couple days prior to pickup what happens is you’ll get the driver’s information.

Customer Justin:   Okay.

WWTI:   Alright Justin, we appreciate your time and business.  Any questions call Doug back, just make sure you get on to that computer and approve it.

Customer Justin:   Alright thank you.

WWTI:   You’re very welcome.  Thank you Justin…bye bye.
